Why this drill works

The fingertip grip makes it impossible to force the club with the hands, providing instant feedback. This constraint forces the golfer to rely purely on the large muscles of the body (core and legs) to initiate the swing and power, promoting a body-driven motion and correct weight transfer.

How to do it

  1. 1

Grip the club in the middle of the handle.

  2. 2

Hold the club with only your fingertips, ensuring neither palm is touching the club.

  3. 3

Make swings without a ball, focusing on how the club reacts to your body's motion.

  4. 4

Practice this between shots on the golf course to continuously feel the proper motion.
