Why this drill works

Provides negative feedback. If you leave the rod, you have early extended. Forces you to stay in posture.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Stick alignment rod vertically in ground touching your tailbone at address.

  2. 2

    Backswing: Wipe trail glute across the rod.

  3. 3

    Transition: Separate knees without hips leaving the rod.

  4. 4

    Impact: Push rod backward with lead glute. No 'daylight' allowed.
