Impact-to-Finish Release Window Drill

Drill by AI Golf School curated

Why this drill works

This creates a release window: handle forward through impact, then clubhead release after the strike. It helps distinguish an early cast from a held-off late release and gives the AI a drill for either timing error.

How to do it

  1. 1

Preset an impact position with hands slightly ahead, lead wrist flat, and pressure on the lead foot.

  2. 2

Move slowly from impact to a waist-high finish, letting the clubhead pass the hands only after the strike zone.

  3. 3

Stop at waist high: the arms should be extended, the chest turning, and the clubface roughly matching the spine angle.

  4. 4

Hit 30-50 yard shots, alternating one rehearsal and one ball until the release happens after impact instead of before it or not at all.
